Speech Festival -------- Way to go Kenna!

Every year McKenna's school does a Speech Festival. The kids have to memorize a poem that is between 1 & 3 minutes long. They have a class competition, where they narrow it down to four kids per class. Then they have a grade level competition to get it from 16 kids down to four. The final four recited their poems in front of all the first and second graders and four judges.
McKenna took FIRST PLACE in 2nd Grade. (She also took 1st place last year!)!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUD!

Happy 17th Birthday! I can't believe Kristopher is 17! WOW! Where does the time go?! It is weird to think of how many soccer games we have sat through, movies we have watched, hours of video games...the list goes on and on!

Maggie has also been in the family for a year now! What would we do without her too!

Marathon #4 in St. George

It truly amazes me that Kristopher keeps running marathons! I would think after knowing what pain is to follow, you would never want to run again! I am very proud of him for running each year!

The weather this year was AWEFUL! It rained the entire time and the high was only around 57! That is COLD for St. George!
Roger didn't run this year because of his blasted kidney stones! They transfered his registration to next year!

GOOD JOB BUD!

TAGGED...6 Random Facts About Me!

I am not a very random person, but since Cricket tagged me , I will do it!

#1. I HATE to wear shoes! My neighbor across the street always comments on me getting the mail (rain or shine) in my bare feet. The worst part of winter is having to wear shoes! I think my feet are claustrophobic!

#2. I have an unhealthy obsession (a sickness really) with markers and crayons! There is nothing better than buying crayons for 22 cents a box or markers for 88 cents a box! You should see my collection!!!

#3. I love to read!

#4. Mint Ice Cream with Gummy Bears (from Cold Stone) is the BEST! Don't say YUCK until you have tried it! :)

#5. I am a Reality T.V. show junkie! I know, GET A LIFE!

#6. Hmmm... I am typing this at 6:30 in the morning because I can no longer sleep in! :(

YOUR TURN....I tag Kendra, Julie, Nikki, & Kandiss!

FINALLY....Back to School Pictures!

I know that school has been in session for a month now, but I finally got the Back-to-School background I wanted to work! Kristopher is a Jr.!!! He has to catch the bus at 6:30 in the morning so his picture is in the dark! Jessica started Jr. High! WOW! Not sure anyone is ready for that! (She LOVES it so far!). McKenna is in 2nd grade! As usual, she loves school too! Mom is glad the kids are back, but not sure she is ready to be back. I do love being home at 12:15 this year! I had to take pictures of Jessica walking into the building. I'm not sure who was more nervous! The last picture is of Kenna & her BFF, Bailee.

My Mountain is on FIRE!

We noticed the smoke around noon, on Monday the 25th. A teacher I work with called it in. Through out the day and night I took several pictures. It burned for two days really heavy and then just a little bit for a few more days. The smoke and the smell was awful! If I would have been at home when I first saw it, I would have thought it was either McKenna's school or the houses on the hill, but we had a clear view from the front of the school. Most of the pictures are from Summit Academy, but the others are from my front yard. Now our hill is all black & UGLY!

GIRLS CAMP!

Jessica had a BLAST at YW Girls Camp! She went to the Heber Valley Camp that the Church owns. It is LUXURY compared to where we usually go. She has AWESOME YW leaders. In my opinion, that makes ALL the difference!

Her dad was able to go up the last night and be there for Testimony Meeting! She was very excited to see him and I think he was just as excited to see her!

Lagoon Fun!

Yeah! Stake Lagoon Day! The only day that we can all barely afford to go and the day that Grandma & Papa can come join the fun for FREE and watch the kids have fun! (HINT: Don't go to Lagoon 1 week after being at Disneyland. Doesn't quite compare!) What made it GREAT was having cousins to ride the rides with!

This is the new ride this year. It is called Odyssey. The kids loved it!

Universal Studios

Here are pictures from Day #2 of our vacation. There was hardly anyone there so the lines were perfect and we got to ride on everything several times! "THE MUMMY RIDE" was by far the favorite!

Kristopher was really there! He was late getting back from the Alta Soccer Camp, so he isn't in any of the pictures! We missed you Jen! The girls were all sad that you weren't matching them too!

Mutton Bustin'

McKenna decided to do the Mutton Bustin' at the rodeo with her cousin Tyce. She was a bit nervous, but loved it when she was done! She was the second to last kid(out of 40 or so) to ride and tied with 2 other kids for 2nd place! She won $21.80! No one was more surprised than me! The family (uncles & big brother) bet that she would cry and not go through with it, but she proved them all wrong! She can't wait to do it again next year! Check out Kendra's blog to see Tyce.

Family Vacation DAY 1

We got to the hotel around 3:00 pm. We thought we would take the time to play in the pool for a while. Roger & Kristopher spent most of the time trying to prove to each other who was stronger! There was a small water slide. It wasn't as much fun as just playing around in the pool though. Stay tuned for DAY #2!

Disney Princesses!

Since we were just there, and I heard about this in one of the parks, I was surprised to see it on Julie's Blog! I'm glad she had the link! Unfortunately, Belle was the one Princess we didn't get to have our picture taken with!

Locks for Love

After an off handed remark from her dad about cutting her hair short so she wouldn't cry every time she combed it, knowing that her cousin Jagen survived doing it, lots of thought, and a few tears....McKenna decided to cut off 10 inches of her gorgeous hair for Locks of Love! She cried the night before, but when it came down to doing it, neither mom nor Kenna shed a tear as Trudie made the first (or last) cut. We are very proud of her and think she looks as cute as ever! Jessica was going to do it too, but after she saw Kenna's, she was having second thoughts! Someone, (probably Bud) called her chicken so she decided to go for it too! They both look great and we are proud of Jessica too!

Jessica is 12 & ready to go to Young Womens!

For Jessica's Birthday, I blindfolded her and drove her around to pick up a few of her friends for breakfast. She had no idea what we were doing and the girls got in the car and didn't make a peep! She didn't think we were having a party at all because I forgot to do invitations and we are leaving for a week, so I told her maybe we could do something when we got back. Needless to say, she was very happy that I didn't really forget her party! That night, while she and her dad were at their last "Daddy-Daughter Party" for Primary, the Beehives in our ward came over to decorate the yard and welcome her into Young Women! She is very excited to be done with Primary and mom is excited because she has GREAT YW Leaders!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA!

THROUGH THE YEARS!!!!
Not too many pictures of Jessica in her early years, they are all down in a box (before digital). But here are a few to see how much she has grown.
